The UCLG World Council 2024 is set to convene in The Hague, Netherlands, from 8 to 10 October 2024, as presented by Mayor Jan Van Zanen, member of the UCLG Executive Presidency. The announcement, made during the Retreat’s first day, featured a promotional video emphasising the significance of peace for the Dutch city, which is celebrating the 125th anniversary since the first Hague Peace Conference took place. Mayor Van Zanen highlighted the collective responsibility of local and regional governments in fostering global harmony: “The world needs us to work together, offering and highlighting examples of peace.”
