The International Observatory on Participatory Democracy (IOPD) Best Practice Award for Citizen Participation recognizes the successful experiences of local and regional governments in the field of participatory democracy, citizen deliberation, community empowerment, open government, democratic innovations, and public participation.
This year was the 16th edition of the Award, and organizers received 120 submissions and selected 14 finalists from the following cities: Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belém, Bogotá, Cascais, Dannieh, Florence, Imbabura, Manchester, Mitcham, Bruxelles, Quintana Roo, Salvador, and Sud-Kivu region.
The outcome of the Award deliberations will be announced during the IOPD Conference in Grenoble, from 7 to 10 December 2022.
